Community

Our community took us from a once a week gig above a pub, to a seven nights a week “Comedy Institution”. Covid could have been the end, but your donations & love helped us survive the ravages of the pandemic. And we love you back! Everyone should have the chance to see great comedy, irrespective of their wage, and in this 'industry', comedians need all the help they can get. We were built by comedians, for comedians. You know it's true/ Everything we do/ We do it for you! (Guitar solo)

Evaldas Karosas

Comedian: Evaldas Karosas - Angel Comedy

Upcoming Shows

Every time Evaldas plays us, we get about half the audience coming out of the room asking about him. He’s on the hottest of hot streaks at the moment, constantly coming up with new material and all of it hitting, hard.

Arriving from Lithuania it didn’t take long for him to start smashing lots of comedy competitions, and the industry has started to take notice as well. He’s just too funny to be denied, so start following him now before he breaks big. We’re massive fans of his and can’t wait to see what he does next.

Here’s a few competitions he’s been involved in:

Beat The Frog World Series – Winner, 2019.
Cheshire Cat New Act of the Year – Winner, 2019.
BBC New Act of the Year – Finalist, 2025
Dutch Barn Spirit of Comedy – Runner-Up, 2025

Josh Weller

Comedian: Josh Weller - Angel Comedy

Josh Weller has had an incredible life. Alongside his natural talents for comedy, he was a successful musician, getting a solo record contract when he was 20 and was the lead singer for The Kenneths, playing with everyone from The Offspring and Stereophonics to Florence & The Machine and The XX. He’s had roles on Netflix’s The Witcher (his character died) and on Ewan McGregor’s A Gentleman in Moscow (his character died). He’s hosted podcasts such as Excitable Boy and F1 podcast Dirty Air

But it’s his stand-up that we love most about him, and he shot his last special at the Bill Murray. You can watch it for free on Youtube here – the opening bit about musicians on loop pedals is worth the price of admission alone!

Josh has always had a keen eye for the ridiculous, whether that is in music or relationships, and he’s a firm crowd favourite. You can follow him @joshwellerjoshweller, where his skits have got over 100 million views.

“Brilliant.” – FRED ARMISEN

“The greatest musician turned comedian in the world” BILL STEVENSON – BLACK FLAG, DESCENDENTS

Patrick Spicer

Comedian: Patrick Spicer - Angel Comedy

Upcoming Shows

Patrick has been a long time favourite at the club, and has been one of our most reliable and quick-witted MCs. Some of his ad-libs with audience members have become legendary.

Obviously he has a lot of other great moments on film, and you should really follow him on @patrickspicer as he’s always hilarious, as attested to by having over 50 million views the last time we checked.

He also recorded his last special at the club, which you can watch for free on Youtube. It’s a great show and has a load of his longer bits in it which show he’s not just quick off the mark.

Naturally he’s starting to get some recognition, and he’s been nominated for both Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Chortle Best Newcomer, as well as being a finalist in the Amused Moose National New Comic Award and the Leicester Square Comedian of the Year. Come see why everyone is buzzing about him.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Comedy masterclass” – Mumble Comedy
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Natural… Not a flicker of hesitation” – The Skinny
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Well thought out and very funny” – Broadway Baby

“An engaging and natural storyteller, his stories weave into one another with ease” – The Skinny

Thor Stenhaug

Comedian: Thor Stenhaug - Angel Comedy

Thor is not just one of the funniest guys you’ll meet, but he’s one of the loveliest ones too.

Our audiences always react to him so well that he’s been one of our most successful MCs – he always reacts so genuinely and hilariously that you always end up with one of a kind moments you wouldn’t want to miss.

But it’s as a stand-up that his career is really taking off. His debut show, One Night Stand Baby, was a massive success, selling out in Edinburgh and leading him to go on his first UK tour. He’s done tour support for a bunch of comics, like Vittorio Angelone, Fern Brady, Josh Widdecombe, Larry Dean and Jack Dee, and he was even shortlisted for British Comedian of the Year, despite, well, not being British…

I guess when you’re named after  the Viking god of Thunder you’re not going to let petty things like nationality stand in your way.

Follow him on @ThorTellsJokes, he’s so likeable and funny that he’s only going to get bigger and better. Chortle called him, “a personable, relatable, TV-ready comedian”, and they’re not the only ones who thought he’s going places:

“Stenhaug’s observational storytelling is effortlessly compelling… material is razor-sharp; he could very well be destined for real arenas in the future.” ★★★★ The Telegraph

“Norwegian comedy god of thunder has a storming debut.” ★★★★ The Scotsman
