Richard Lindesay

Richard Lindesay is a musical comedian whose act is a unique and surprising mixture of recorders and flutes, with original songs, clown-like physical comedy, and sharp one-liner jokes. His performances are praised by audiences as being inclusive, inoffensive and joyous.

A New Zealander, Richard started performing as a stand-up comedian in Australia before spending many years honing is craft in comedy clubs and festivals throughout the UK and mainland Europe.

Richard was a grand finalist in the UK Musical Comedy Awards in 2020, which discovers the best musical comedians each year from hundreds of participants. Richard had a big impact during the heats of the competition and was put straight to the final. Due to COVID implications, Richard was unable to perform, but was tipped by judges as a favourite to win.

Richard has produced and performed several shows in Australia, Europe and New Zealand including Always Been a Player his one-man musical comedy theatre show, competitive joke writing show the International Joke Off and Fools Suffering Gladly.

In June 2023 Richard has a breakout hit song on TikTok, Recorder in the Corner amassing over 1 million streams within a month on Spotify and other streaming services. Since then he has built up a worldwide following of over 400,000 followers across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
