Clowning is not about trying to be funny. It’s about learning how to be vulnerable - and how to play with it.

This two-day workshop explores vulnerability, mistakes and creative risk through physical comedy, improvisation and presence. Failure becomes material. Mistakes become fuel. Discomfort becomes playable.

We will explore how to:

• maintain eye contact and build a genuine connection with the audience;


• embrace failure and turn it into play;


• trust and follow our impulses;


• use vulnerability as a tool for creative discovery;


• move with greater freedom and build trust in our bodies;


• listen and respond more sensitively to the audience;


• stay open and playful when things don’t go according to plan.

The workshop is for performers of all kinds - actors, stand-up comedians, improvisers, clowns, dancers, movement artists and anyone interested in stage work, physical expression and connecting with an audience.

Piotr Sikora is a physical theatre and clown performer whose solo shows have toured internationally, including the Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
