Abby Govindan: How To Embarrass Your Immigrant Parents
Sunday 10th August 2025, 8:30pm to 9:30pm - The Bill Murray
Fresh from a sold-out Off-Broadway run at SoHo Playhouse, a sold-out Australian and US tour, Abby Govindan takes her smash-hit, critical success, How to Embarrass Your Immigrant Parents, to London. A storytelling experience that explores a pertinent universal theme: wanting to understand your parents but struggling to see eye-to-eye.
Abby takes the viewer on an intimate, hilarious, soul-bearing journey about her struggles with mental health, fitting in, and finding common ground with the ones you love even after they’ve hurt you. Most importantly, it is a love letter to Abby’s Indian heritage and her wonderful parents, without whom none of this would be possible. No gimmicky Indian accents, guaranteed.
Abby occasionally finds herself in the headlines for relentlessly committing to the bit and taking certain satirical assertions a tad too far, such as the time she convinced way more people than is reasonable that she created the hit Netflix TV show Emily in Paris.
