Comedy at The Bill Murray

The Bill Murray is Angel Comedy HQ. A club, pub and hub, open 7 days a week, hosting an eclectic range of the finest comedy around.

WHAT’S ON

The Bill Murray is more than a wonderfully intimate, well proportioned comedy club. It’s also a creative space where comedians can meet, write, rehearse and perform, and where we run comedy courses and comedy projects for our local community. And it’s a lovely pub, serving drinks and snacks every day from 5pm. And of course, there’s comedy…

Group Therapy’s first show at the Bill Murray is headlined by the Leonardo DiCaprio of stand up, James Acaster (nominated for the Edinburgh Fringe Best Comedy Award a record-breaking 5 consecutive times) and features comedians’ favourite weirdo Ali Brice, ‘Genuinely different’ (The Scotsman) Lou Sanders, the more than a bit intense Garrett Millerick and self-declared ‘SHIT HOT PARTY LEGENDS’ Birthday Girls. Funny AND fun. Imagine.

Earth’s most prestigious comedy anti-competition has landed at The Bill Murray. Who shall succeed? Who shall perish amidst the fires? Who shall be crowned earth’s champion? The Glang Show is a fully interactive gong show set in an anarcho-utopian magical realist feudal theocracy. It’s *complicated*, but luckily the rules don’t matter all that much. There is a line up of comedians performing to compete for your affection and, through various means, the audience have been given complete control over the proceedings and they are neither instructed to use these powers wisely or fairly. The Glang Show invariably descends into chaos and has to stop. The Glang Show is a scourge and it will replicate itself until nothing else remains. There can only be one winner.

Sofie Hagen and Edd Hedges have both won awards. They are also both going
to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year – what! The confidence of these
two is appalling. Edd is doing his first ever show called ‘Wonderland ‘ –
which Sofie recommends. Sofie is doing her third ever show called ‘Dead
Baby Frog’ – which Edd recommends. Come and see them work on their brand
new shows – so it’ll work before Edinburgh. Oh – only come if you are a nice person.

Queer as Jokes is a new comedy night where everyone on the bill has some connection with the LGBT+ community. If you want a line up of middle class white male comedians you’re better off elsewhere.

“Dane Baptiste is equipped with the quiet confidence you only get from knowing that you’ve got gags to reduce any audience to hysterics” | GUARDIAN

Tim Key presents a work in progress. He will also be falling back on old material because, and this is not a criticism, he doesn’t have enough new material.
