LEMON. Comedy – 8pm, 19 September
Fresh from its packed-out and critically acclaimed first season in Melbourne, the inaugural Lemon London is hosted by MC Holly Burn (Edinburgh Fringe, Victoria Beckham Vogue viral) and includes Nish Kumar (Mock the Week/The Mash Report, NewsJack), Fern Brady (8 of 10 Cats, Comedy Central), Lost Voice Guy (BBC3, BBC Radio 4), Mawaan Rizwan (BBC Asian Network, Edinburgh Fringe), and more brilliant acts TBA. Expect the sharpest minds from this year’s Edinburgh Festival, and the freshest picks from the local comedy circuit.
“Love comedy, but sick of dick jokes and boring, sexist quips? There’s nothing funny about the lack of diversity in [comedy] – which is where Lemon comes in.”
Introducing LEMON. Comedy – a new global stand-up showcase that aims to promote diverse voices in comedy. Lemon celebrates comedians of colour; female-identifying & gender non-binary comedians; comedians from the LGBTQ+ community; comedians living with disability, and comedians living with mental illness.
A night at Lemon is zingy, thought-provoking, and funny as f*&k. Sometimes confronting, but always hilarious.
