LEMON. Comedy – 8pm, 19 September

The most inclusive, warm and welcoming comedy night we’ve encountered… and certainly one of the funniest.”

TIME OUT MELBOURNE

Introducing LEMON. Comedy – a new global stand-up showcase that aims to promote diverse voices in comedy. Lemon celebrates comedians of colour; female-identifying & gender non-binary comedians; comedians from the LGBTQ+ community; comedians living with disability, and comedians living with mental illness.

Fresh from its packed-out and critically acclaimed first season in Melbourne, the inaugural Lemon London is headlined by Nish Kumar(Mock the Week/The Mash Report, News Jack), Fern Brady (8 of 10 Cats, Comedy Central), Lost Voice Guy (BBC3, BBC Radio 4),Mawaan Rizwan (BBC Asian Network), Amy Annette (What Women Want, I call Myself A Feminist)Lauren Pattison (Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2017 Best Newcomer Nominee), Zach & Viggo (Winner, Best Comedy Brighton Fringe) and MC Holly Burn (Edinburgh Fringe, Victoria Beckham Vogue viral).

Expect the sharpest minds from this year’s Edinburgh Festival, and the freshest picks from the local comedy circuit.

A night at Lemon is zingy, thought-provoking, and funny as f*&k. Sometimes confronting, but always hilarious.

ZEST FOR LEMON MELBOURNE:

“Love comedy, but sick of dick jokes and boring, sexist quips? There’s nothing funny about the lack of diversity in [comedy] – which is where Lemon comes in.”
