The courses will not only cover detailed joke writing, they will also include sessions from writers of Mock the Week and 8 out of 10 cats. Topics discussed include  writing topical material and a huge amount of different techniques for developing, editing and generating material for page and stage.

This is a 4 week course.

Tutors:

Julian Deane
Julian is a comedian from South East London who gigs both in the UK and internationally. He writes for programs as varied as Mock The Week, Unspun and a whole host of others. Julian also writes jokes for a wide variety of comedians and is widely regarded as one of the sharpest joke writers in comedy.

Francis Foster:
Francis Foster is a stand up comedian and teacher. He trained as a drama teacher at the world renowned Central School of Speech and Drama and has taught drama in schools all around London and the south West. As a comedian he was runner up in the New Act of The Year Awards 2015 and performs at the most prestigious comedy clubs in the UK. He is a writer for TV programs such as Mock The Week and “Safe Word” and has recently returned from supporting Eddie Izzard on his tour of Spain.
