Stuart Laws and Chris Coltrane (aka the League of Best Friends) (no-one calls us this) are filming our new stand-up shows – and we’d absolutely love you to be in the audience.
Chris’s show is called MAKE LOVE AND SMASH FASCISM, and is another hour of Tory-smashing comedy to make you feel good about the world. He mocks Theresa May and tedious pundits, deconstructs neoliberalism, and leaves you feeling that we really can make the world a better place.
Stu’s show is called STUART LAWS STOPS. Stu’s got fast-paced, hilarious observations and he ain’t afraid to say them over the course of an hour. He does all the comedy at Turtle Canyon Comedy and supported James Acaster on tour loads. As heard on BBC Radio 4. This show went and bagged loads of sweet reviews in Edinburgh and also one bad one. So, something for everyone.
(And the proceedings will be expertly compered by everyone’s favourite Alexander Bennett, Alexander Bennet.)
We’re doing it in the afternoon on Sunday Sept 17th, at The Bill Murray, in Angel. We’ll open the doors to the venue at 2.30pm, and start the first show at about 3pm, with a half-hour break in between, plus many drinks afterwards – and indeed, before! We’ll be done sometime between 5.30pm and 6pm.
We’re doing this as a free show, but ticketed, with a collection at the end. However, before you get tickets, we need you to agree to something. Please only book tickets if you’re on board with these points:
— PLEASE only come if you can stay for both shows. We’re running this event at our own expense, and if people only come for one of the shows, then the other act loses out. Which is unkind. And you’re not unkind, are you?
— PLEASE be there by 2.45pm at the latest, so we can get everyone seated, drinks purchased etc, and start the first recording on time. Latecomers won’t be allowed in.
— PLEASE only book tickets if you’re definitely coming. Tickets are limited due to the size of the venue, and if you book tickets and don’t come then it means people might not be able to come who wanted to.
We’d absolutely love you to come – and we’d love you even more if you brought friends along too! It’d mean the world to us, in fact. Any help you can give us in bringing along lovely people would be properly appreciated. 🙂
